Arrested Vincenzo Licciard feared leader of the Naples Mafia, the Camorra, who had been on the run for years.Police in Naples have arrested a man they claim is a leading member of the Italian city's criminal underworld.
42-year-old Vincenzo Licciardi is alleged to be one of the heads of the Camorra, the local branch of the Mafia.
"He is a very important man," said the Naples police chief. "Not only because he is the head of his criminal organisation but because he is also one of the bosses of the Naples Camorra itself."
Licciardi has been on the run since 2004 and was one of Italy's 30 most wanted criminals. He is linked to the clan whose criminal activities include illegal rubbish disposal.
